stamp cookies

I had the pleasure of making the party favors for a very sweet friend of a friend's  wedding.  This couple wanted a stamp shaped cookie to signify the letters they wrote to each other when they were dating.  Each cookie was tied with a cute little note to guests that explained the significance of the cookie and ended with "Thank you for leaving a stamp in our hearts."  I was ecstatic that they asked me to help out with their special day!
Now, I just had to make a plan for 175 scratch made cookies with homemade fondant.  When making large quantities of cookies or anything for that matter, in a non-commercial setting, consistency is key.   It's harder to make even products when you have to make them in smaller batches.  You really have to pay attention and work hard on the details because it's too easy to let tiny things slip by.  Every batch of cookies dough was rolled out between two 1/4" dowel rounds no wider than my rolling pin.  This took a minute lol!

Every piece was hand rolled and made and then assembled for the finished product.
I'm so happy with the way they came out not to mention how tasty they were.  A good chef always tastes their product before serving to guests ;)

This is what I started with...

I really like to use homemade fondant.
It tastes better than the manufactured kind and it's so easy to make.

Coral fondant done.
Now, 4 batches of turquoise and 2 batches of white to go!

So this just wasn't cutting it.  I need more space!

This is more like it!!
(This is only 3/4 of the cookies. There's still another table)

After all the pieces are made, it's time to assemble.

Now, time to pipe.
I used royal icing for the monogramming.

One table in all it's glory !!!

Congratulations Tina and Trey!
I'm so honored to have been a part of your special day!
